Benetti nació en 1873, cuando Lorenzo Benetti compró el Cantiere Darsena en Viareggio y fundó el astillero. Casi 40 años después, sus hijos Gino y Emilio tomaron el negocio familiar. En 1961, el salto de la madera al acero definió un nuevo estándar de lujo.
Benetti was born in 1873, when Lorenzo Benetti bought the Cantiere Darsena in Viareggio and founded the shipyard. Nearly 40 years later, his sons Gino and Emilio took over the family business. In 1961, the shift from wood to steel set a new standard of luxury.
